I had two people turning 80 a month apart. For my Nanna my sister embroidered teacups onto linen and then I sewed them into a table runner.

Blast from the Past - My 3rd Quilt
With my third quilt I ordered the fabric from Spoonflower. The designer is Bora Bora. I love her designs. I did not know what I wanted to make before I bought the material and ended up short for my original idea. So I added a spotted line on each side. Looking back I can now see ways I could have changed it. Also as the order would take 6 weeks I didn't want to wait for more fabric. So I grabbed some from Spotlight and made a quilt for son number 2. The batting is bamboo. It is a really light quilt but a nice level of warmth. The idea with the layout was for the boy to be chasing dragons on his way home to the castle.
Blast from the Past- My First Quilt
The first quilt I made was for my husband on our 10th wedding anniversary. I used the pattern from the book Jelly Roll Inspirations by Pam and Nicky Lincott. The quilt was "Pick n Mix". I had no idea what a jelly roll was so I converted the requirements back to yardage with the seamstress who taught me how to quilt. I also made the "mistake" and put my squares 90 degrees to the instructions. I like the look so it was a fortune mistake. Took me a little bit of time to get my head around it all.
I added our initials to each side

Hello
After being inspire by my sisters, I have decided to attempt blogging again. The first thing I want to do is put photo's of all I have made in the last 2 years. If you like anything, let me know. I have a terrible habit of not being able to follow a pattern without adding my own touch. This means that I am never sure if my work really hits the mark. I love making for family and friends. I figure they know how much love is put into my makes and are not too fussed that my seams aren't that straight! I am also going to attempt to add a signature. Wish me luck!!!
